Yoga as it is commonly taught today has strayed a very long way from what it was originally intended to do. In fact, many styles of yoga now do the exact opposite to yoga’s original intention and purpose. That intention and purpose is to support our return to the truth of who we all are, through our connection with our bodies.
This six week course re-instates the true purpose of yoga. We will be doing a wide variety of both floor based and standing exercises designed to stretch and strengthen the body, but always with the clear intention of re-connecting to the body first and from that connection, discerning the most supportive way to move. Some of the exercises may feel a little strenuous for some but you are encouraged, through your connection to your body to modify each exercise to suit you and if need be, to simply sit on a chair and deepen your connection to yourself through your connection to your body and to join back in when you feel to. These classes are video recordings that will be posted at 6am on Sunday mornings. You will then have until 6am the following Sunday to do the class.
